I'm still writing my article Scary Monsters magazine. I'm told if I get it into the publisher on time that it will appear in the Fall issue. One more event to write and I'll be done. It'll be longer than the last article and that one was 9 pages long! There were some very good panels this year! Continue reading ...
Monsterpalooza 2012!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Saturday, February 18, 2012,
Here I come Monsterplaooza 2012! I have requested a day off of work, my tickets will be waiting for me at the will-call door and I have my notepad, pen and camera at the ready. The event will take place April, 13th, 14th & 15th, at Burbank, California. I'll be writing for Scary Monsters magazine once again. Last year's article is featured in issue number 81 (on newsstands now at this writing). Of course I'm coving this event "pro bono" -well since I haven't been paid for my writing I gues... Buy, Buy, Buy
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Monday, November 7, 2011,
No one is buying anything! I tried my hand at making monster related stuff and posted on this site. I also took the same items to craft shows. People like them one even took a picture, but will they make the effort to reach around and removed their wallets and shell out 6 bucks? Nope. The downturn is taking took long to recover and those with money are holding on to it dearly. Continue reading ...
Amazon Wants Me Back!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Saturday, October 8, 2011,
I removed all pay-per-click ads from this site when Amazon canceled all California accounts when our Governor Brown signed a new tax law that would make it that all purchases made in California would be taxed. Amazon pulled all California affiliate accounts before the law took effect. Now the law has been removed and Amazon wants me back. They can kiss my Monstrous Butt! I had Amazon ads here for over two years and when they closed the account they took $20 to process the check so I ended... Continue reading ...

Say "Goodbye" to all Ads on my Site!!!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Tuesday, July 5, 2011,
Since Amazon has severed ties with all advertising affiliates in California, because they don't want to pay California sales tax, I've decided to pull all the ads here for all the affiliate programs that I entered. All programs don't payout unless you make $100. I've entered four programs and I've made about $29 -that I can't get. So screw them all! You know that I directed traffic directly or indirectly and they got free advertising from me. I'm done now! I'm done with Google Ad Sense, ... Continue reading ...

I guess I'll b e pulling some ads of of my site... E-mail from Amazon: Hello, Unfortunately, Governor Brown has signed into law the bill that we emailed you about earlier today. As a result of this, contracts with all California residents participating in the Amazon Associates Program are terminated effective today, June 29, 2011. Those California residents will no longer receive advertising fees for sales referred to Amazon.com , Endless.com , MYHABIT.COM or SmallParts.com . Please be assured t... Continue reading ...

Monsterpalooza 2011
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Saturday, April 23, 2011,
I went to Monsterpalooza and it was great! I met John Skershock there and it was agreed
that we would stick to the plan: He would write about the floor activities and
I would write about the panels and events.
Looking at the conflicting event times I suggested that John take one
while I took the other. He couldn’t
leave the booth that he was watching. I
sat through all the panels that I could in the three days. There was one event that would cost an extra
$15 –forget that! It cost 8... Continue reading ...
Monserpalooza Countdown...
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Friday, April 8, 2011,
I’m off to Monsterpalooza 2011! I’ll be there at beautiful downtown Burbank to meet John Skerchock (of Scary Monsters Magazine fame). We agreed to tag-team write about the event and present the article to Scary Monsters magazine for publication. I wrote about Monsterpalaooza 2010 and John wrote about Monsterpalooza 2009, so John suggested that we combine efforts to properly capture the event on paper! Updates to be posted all this weekend! Monsterpalooza: 2011
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Tuesday, March 22, 2011,
I'm planning on going to Monsterpalooza in April! I'll be writing another review and sending it off to "Scary Monsters" magazine again, with hopes that it will get published! I will be taking more pictures and posting here. It looks like a good line up of monster movie guest will be there! There is one panel that I know that I won't go to. They want an extra $15 busks to see "The Hong Show" with actor James Hong. Sorry, it cost 8 bucks to park, I'm not going to shell out much more! They... Continue reading ...
Scary Computer Crash!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Monday, January 24, 2011,
Lost it! I was updating my computer virus protection software and the next time I went to turn on my computer it wouldn’t start. The anti-virus software killed my computer and I lost all of the computer models that I made for my website! Aggh! Just when I was making a whole city for giant monster attacks! I have to start over! Having lost all of my modeling files is worse than any virus that I ever encountered! I posted my Munsters dolls on this site for show-and-tell! I was also chec... Continue reading ...
Classic Movie on TV
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Monday, January 10, 2011,
Okay, here’s what’s been happening monster wise: I saw “Tales from the Crypt” (1972) when it was on TV last month. I hadn’t seen it since its theatrical release when I was only 10 years old. I completely remember the first story that stared Joan Collins. The second story was forgettable –I don’t remember that one at all. Now the third story with Peter Cushing: I remember that one because when I was a ten-year-old that just ate a giant Krackle chocolate bar by himself, I barf... Continue reading ...
New Books!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Monday, July 5, 2010,
Okay, it’s been a while since I’ve updated this site. Being employed seems to take up a lot of my time! I’m now working in a call center –scary, huh?
I acquired a couple of books and added them to my library: I just got “Famous Monster Movie Art of Basil Gogos” by Kerry Gammill & J. David Spurlock. Very good stuff! Since I don’t own a copy of “Famous Monsters of Filmland” (hard to believe) I can marvel over Gogos’ artwork without paying the price of a highly coll... ? Continue reading ...

Okay, I went to the biggest monster convention on the west coast: Monsterpalooza! April 9-11, in Burbank California. Here’s the thing: I promised to do a write up for my blog, however, I wrote a big report and submitted it to Scary Monsters magazine. Dennis Druktenis, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, is considering printing my article! So, if I posted it all here, wouldn’t I be scooping the magazine that I want to be published in?
I can say that it was a very good show! I really en... ? Continue reading ...
3-D vs. Us!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Wednesday, April 7, 2010,
The new 3-D movies promise audiences with an enhanced entertainment experience, but some are just finding it just annoying. There are between 2% and 12% of the population that can’t see 3-D due to blindness in one eye or mild binocular disorder. Some people will leave from screenings early because of headaches and dizziness.
Sure the 3-D effects were amazing in Avatar, but after all the pizzazz you’re left with a weak plot. 3-D didn’t help with the storytelling.
Right now, there ... ? Continue reading ...

New Monster, New Animation & New Morgue Files!

New Exclusive Animation!
I just uploaded a new video in the Monster Tube area of this site! It’s called “Savings To Die For”. If you notice that the tutorial for the self-checkout stand at the grocery store uses CGI figures from the program called “Poser”. Since I’ve been using Poser for my animations I thought it would be funny to make my own tutorial of a person buying things to do away with an unwanted house guest! Watch carefully and listen to what she’s buying…

Happy Monster-Loving New Year!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Saturday, January 16, 2010,
Welcome! I’ve been getting a lot of new visitors to this site and I want to extend a hardy hand shake! One reason that new visitors have been directed to the site is that I’ve been posting my videos to every file sharing site that I can find! The one with the most traffic (is NOT Youtube) is Metacafe. I got more hits in one hour than I did on Youtube in two months! Also I’ve been calling myself the “Proprietor of Monster Menagerie” whenever I’ve made a comment on other sites ... New Ghost Video
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Sunday, November 29, 2009,
I just finished another video! This one is called “Ghost Stories” (can be seen in the Monster Tube area). The video is a collection of theme-driven clips that I made, involving ghost. There’s a recreation of the hallway scene from The Shining (come play with us Danny, forever and forever and forever). I also made one scene from Poltergeist. I’m not completely satisfied with the outcome, but some clips came out better than expected while others…
I used Poser 3 to make the clip... Continue reading ...

Halloween was here! We had a good time at my house! Some 860 trick-or-treaters came to the door! I posted some pictures of our house all decked-out with Halloween decorations. Look at the page “Halloween 2009”. As always I’m too busy at the door to take pictures of the kids!
Original Monster Clips: There’s a new page here called “Monster Tube” where I will post movie clips made just for this site. Now showing: Zombies on the Prowl (an all CGI movie), Celebrity Zombies and... ? Continue reading ...

What’s in a Name?
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Tuesday, September 22, 2009,
So I changed the name of the “Celebrity Skinless” section to “Celebrity Zombies”. When I explained to people what the section was about they didn’t get the parody. I would have to go: you see, there’s this magazine called “Celebrity Skin” and I have “Celebrity Skinless” where the celebrities are zombies… get it?
I think that “Celebrity Zombies” says it all.
Speaking of which: I’ve added Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. More to come! Keep checking back! Book... Continue reading ...
Too Violent for Myspace!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Sunday, September 13, 2009,
So, I’ve been maintaining a Myspace account for Monster Menagerie www.myspace.com/monstermenagerie .
I posted a couple of pictures on my Celebrity Skinless pictures and was using one as a “thank you” for the users who added me to their friends list. All of a sudden my pictures disappeared! So, I tried to reload the same pictures. That’s when I got the message that my pictures were in violation of the terms to maintain an account on Myspace. The pictures were “too violent”. ... Dracula English Vs. Spanish Version & Celebrity Skinless
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Saturday, September 5, 2009,
I just watched Bela Lugosi as Dracula. I haven’t seen it in a long time and I’m not sure if I ever saw the whole thing before. I watched all of the extras on the 75th Anniversary Edition DVD. There’s a lot of good stuff there –but the film historians start to contradict each other! One says that Bram Stoker wrote Dracula from a draft of “The Vampyre,” that was written by John Polidori. “The Vampire” was written during the same weekend party that Mary Shelly attended and w... The Mummy -Unearthed!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Tuesday, September 1, 2009,
I just finished watching The Mummy staring Boris Karloff. I’ve never seen it all the way through. The last attempt was a 24-hour marathon of monster movies that played on channel 5 (KTLA), on Halloween, 1981. I was babysitting my nephews for the weekend and I tried to stay up all night. One reason for the all-nighter was to see the classic monster movies that I had never seen before. That other reason was that someone set a field on fire, not far away from my sister’s house. I was w... Continue reading ...

Look Out!
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Sunday, August 16, 2009,
I’ve been hard at work promoting this site! I’m working on designing original background art for the pages (the current art was from a pre-made template). For the background, I want to incorporate Universal Studios monsters and a least a monster from a classic Japanese movie. This work would be a logo too that I would put on T-shirts.
I’m also toying with the idea of an on-line comic to post here. This would be more original content! The idea is drive traffic here and keep people... Continue reading ...
New Drawings and Drive-In movies
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Friday, August 7, 2009,
I’ve been busy and posted A few more drawings. The drawing titled “Book Demon” was inspired by Japanese horror comics. He’s an assembled creature: hooves, feathers on the shoulders and horns –a bad ass!
I also added a drive-in movie section. Here you can find good clips and movie trailers of classic monster movies. Yeah, I know: it would have been hard to have seen Dracula in a drive-in movie theater since Bela Lugosi’s movie was made in 1931 and drive-ins came into use in t... Continue reading ...

Finders Keepers
Posted by Cliff Robertson on Friday, July 24, 2009,
As a kid I loved monsters, but avoided watching the movies because I would get nightmares! We lived out in the middle of nowhere –no streetlights for miles! The oak trees would cast the deepest shadows, hiding the monsters that waited around each tree trunk.
One night my brother came upon a box that was marked “Finders Keepers”. He ran home and led me to the spot where the box was. It was in front of our neighbor’s house: Ted’s house. Ted had two grown sons and this box was ... Continue reading ...
